What we can help with

• Corrections. A fee, minimum principal or rule on this site that no longer matches what your servicer told you. Send the page link and what you were told — this is the mail that improves the site fastest.
• A calculator that gave a strange answer. Include the inputs you used (balance, rate, months remaining, lump sum) and we will check the arithmetic.
• A servicer we have not covered. If your lender is missing from the By Lender pages, tell us who services your loan and we will add it to the queue.
• Something on the site is broken. A dead link, a page that will not load, a layout problem on your phone.

What we cannot help with

Being clear about this saves you time:

• We are not your lender or servicer. We cannot look up your loan, change your payment, process a recast, quote your payoff or accept a payment. Only the company that services your mortgage can do those things.
• We are not a broker, lender or financial adviser. We cannot tell you what you should do with your money, whether you will be approved, or whether a recast is right for your situation. We can show you the arithmetic and the rules; the decision is yours.
• We cannot give legal or tax advice. Questions about how a recast interacts with a divorce settlement, an estate or your tax filings belong with a lawyer or a tax professional in your jurisdiction.
• We cannot help with an active application. If a recast request is stuck in a servicer’s system, the only people who can move it are the servicer’s own customer service line. We are not a complaint service and we have no leverage with them.
• We cannot accept guest posts, paid links or sponsored content. Please do not send them.

For privacy and data requests

Write to the same address with “Privacy” in the subject line. Because the calculators are stateless and we do not run accounts, in most cases the honest answer will be that we hold nothing about you — see the Privacy Policy.

RecastDesk is an independent online publication with no walk-in office or telephone support. Email is the only contact channel, and it is the one that gets answered.
